Hello:

I am taking a couple of courses at NYU and would like to invest in a new thesaurus. Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

I actually use the New York Times Crossword Puzzle Dictionary instead of a thesaurus; sometimes it's too obscure, but I just like the layout better than Roget's or any of the others.

Sars,

That's interesting. I'll go to the bookstore (it sounds forced, doesn't it?) tomorrow and take a look.

Thanks!

J.I. Rodale's Synonym Finder rocks the house. Also, I recently picked up the Oxford American Dictionary and Thesarus combination, which I'm liking. It gives the synonym right under the definition. I have the large paperback version, but I think I might pick up the hardcover one for home.

I have a small paperback of Roget's Thesaurus at work. I hate it. It fails me every time.
