I have to put a word in here for Declan Burke's fantastic website, Crime Always Pays. http://crimealwayspays.blogspot.com/ I happened on this Irish site by chance when Burke cited a review I'd written of The Truth Commissioner for our local paper. He has an easy air, but is in fact quite meticulous. Plus a darling daughter whom he dubs Princess Liliput, who gets a lot of airtime, but really, not too much. If you want want a website that will keep you up to date on all things noir, this is the place to go. I've already got quite a backlog of things to read, and I haven't even been viewing it that long.

For those of you who love PostSecret as much as I do, I recently discovered Common Ties--equally as heart-breakingly real and human.

It is. You can spend a lot of time thinking about how you might answer the questions for yourself. They will pay you $50 for each of your answers that they decide to use.

I don't know where to put this request, but I think it fits best here. In preparation for Baby_m's arrival, I am hoping to find the lyrics to French-language children's songs. (He seems to enjoy being sung to, and the plan is for me to speak French to him as much as possible so he has a facility for it when the time comes to consider French immersion schooling.)

The thing is, I remember the tunes of half a dozen songs we used to sing in elementary school, but (except for Frere Jacques and Allouette, which barely have lyrics), only a handful of words from each.

Since the Internet has everything else...does anybody know of a website that might help me?

Great, ken_m! I had a feeling that my word search might have just done the trick.

I've been all about foreveryoungadult.com lately. Because any site that has an Anne of Green Gables drinking game is all right by me.

I also want to take the time to pimp my friend's comic at erfworld.com. It's mostly in jokes about gaming but there's also a lot of sharp plays on words and blink and you'll miss it pop culture references as well as a riveting story.
